Ranking of the number of Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) examinees by country and region, December 2023 edition

The number of people taking the 2023 2nd Japanese Language Proficiency Test was 663,295 worldwide, exceeding the previous record of 618,087 in December 2019 to become the highest number of examinees in history.

In addition, since the previous 2023 1st test had 602,140 examinees, there was an increase of about 60,000 compared to the previous test.
