Nara Park

It takes less than an hour and a half to get from Kansai International Airport to Nara Park by taxi or bus.

The total area is approximately 502 hectares. When you include the surrounding areas of Kofuku-ji, Todai-ji, Kasuga Taisha, and Nara National Museum, the total area is approximately 660 hectares . The park, which is home to around 1,300 wild deer that roam freely among the beautiful lawns and 1,000-year-old pine groves, is a popular tourist spot that symbolizes the ancient city of Nara.

However, as the number of visitors has increased, there have been problems with tourists who do not follow the rules, such as trying to ride the deer.
There are many national treasures and world heritage sites scattered throughout the park, and it is one of Japan’s most popular tourist destinations, attracting visitors from Japan and overseas throughout the year.

The Great Buddha of Nara is famous internationally, and are the main attractions of Nara sightseeing, and you can also see many school excursion groups. In spring, it is a famous place for cherry blossoms, and has been selected as one of the 100 best places to see cherry blossoms in Japan.

There are no fences, gates, or barriers, and there is no entrance fee, so you can stroll around the park from anywhere, at any time.
